We celebrated Drakie's 7th birthday by going on a date with just Drake, Johnny, and me. We took the train up to Salt Lake and went to dinner, walked around Temple Square and City Creek, and picked up a Lego set on the way home.
This boy amazes me every day. He glows with sweetness and the desire to do good. He helps with his brothers, loves going to school, can build any Lego set we put in front of him in no time, and has great manners. He is smart and witty like his dad, and hates attention and tries to make everyone happy like his mom. He's the perfect oldest brother and I really don't want him to grow up.
Picnic at the park! My first time taking all boys and the dog out by myself, and we all survived!
Romney is 7 months old, which means it took me that long to psych myself up for going out with 5 kids + dog.
Bubba informed me that I would be having 13 kids, and asked me to please make room in my belly for a girl.
Johnny brought the Property Solutions double-decker bus home from work and parked it in front of the house for a few days. The boys LOVED being driven to school in it and showing their classes.
With a hubby out of town, I tried to stay busy by taking the boys to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point with some friends. Lot of hands, lots of help, and lots of fun!
One morning Johnny, Romney, and I woke up and thought "It's a nice day, maybe we should load up all kids, grab some water and snacks, and try hiking a mountain." That's about how much thought we put into things that are mentally and physically challenging.
We loaded up everyone and a few hours later made it to the top of the Y, with all of the kids whining and tired. An hour later, we made it back to the car and the boys told us how AWESOME and FUN it was and that they LOVED it. Not quite my feelings, but I'll give it another go in a few years.
We had such a great time at Cornbelly's that we decided to go again with Johnny. But this time, we did face painting and the corn maze. Perfect fall activity for our little guys!
