Johnny's Trip to Alaska

While the boys and I were in Utah, Johnny was able to spend a week in Alaska with his two friends Dave and Andy. They rented a motorhome for a week, fished salmon and halibut, hiked a glacier, canoed in the ocean, and tried their hardest to be more manly. He absolutely loved it!

Salmon fishing - they had the most luck of any other group on the river!

Halibut Fishing

Johnny caught a 5'7", 150 lber that had to be shot in the head 8 times before finally surrendering

Although he was trying his hardest to be manly, he couldn't help taking a picture among the beautiful wildflowers he passed while hiking to a glacier.

Trip to California

When visiting Utah, my mom and I decided to take the boys down to Long Beach and spend time with my wonderful mother-in-law, Mary. Drake pushed a little, red wagon around the whole time filled with stuffed animals and cars. Bubba was held non stop, and my mom and I got to run along the beach and lay out. Mary fed us SOOOO well and was the perfect host, as always. I wish we could do it all over again right now!

The beach is Mary's backyard. It doesn't get any better than that. Drake kept trying to drop cars off the ledge.  Luckily his chubby arm wouldn't allow it.

Beautiful Mary reading to the babies. I don't think Pierce liked that book.

We went to the Long Beach Aquarium. It was fun to see Drake get excited about the animals and fish and shout NEMO!

Pierce still recovering from his awful sunburn.

Busy Summer

We've had a busy summer, to say the least. It started with a move from our apartment into a townhouse a few minutes down the road. Now we have a bit more space to breath, and Johnny has an office so me and the kids aren't bothering him every 5 minutes.

Hallelujia

One day and $1300.00 later, we have our car back and are able to continue our vacation (with a few plans changed.) Boston is a beautiful place. Pictures to come...

Because...

Because I'm stuck in a hotel room with two napping babies while Johnny's in a meeting, I will give some highlights from yesterday:

Dropped camera
Shattered and jammed lens filter
Rain, rain, rain
Cars, Toy Story, Cars, Cars, Cars
Beautiful sunshine
Broken down car
3 hour wait for tow truck
Camera somewhat fixed
"Its your fault." "No, its your fault." "Cars, Choo Choo."
Sleep

It was a looooong day, to say the least.

Overload

My computer is out of memory.  That is to blame for no blogging for the last two months.
As soon as my external hard drive arrives in the mail, you will get pictures of:

Trip to Utah
Trip to California
Trip to Alaska
NY day trip to The Hamptons
Upcoming trip to Boston, Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket
and, of course, more pictures of the boys

Crash

Uh oh, looks like someone tipped over...

Is he gonna make it?  Is he in too much pain to move?

Nope, he's ok

Baby Comparison

Here are my two boys, both at age 2 months and 5 days.  Drake weighed in at 13.1 lbs and Pierce weighs in at 14.8 lbs.  Drake obviously had a rough childhood, probably cause he was malnourished.  No wonder he gives me so much attitude.

Last Weekend

Last Thursday Johnny and I took the kids up to Rochester, NY. Johnny had a short meeting Friday morning, then we drove to Syracuse and walked around Syracuse University. It was an amazing school!

My favorite part of the campus was this cool, old building.

I love my baby boys

The next day we visited Ithaca, NY where Johnny's friend, Josh, is going to school. We met up at a playground so Drake could play with his two little girls and one little boy. Oliver is four months younger than Drake, but quite a bit bigger. After getting a playful shove from the big guy, Drake stood with his hands over his face for two minutes, then needed to be comforted for another five minutes before he could resume his play time. Why is my child so darn sensitive?

Look! All smiles going down the slide by himself.
The park was so pretty and right along one of the Finger Lakes
(can't remember the weird name)
My child, the stud.
We then stopped by a beautiful waterfall just up the street from the park.

Before heading back home we went by Cornell University. It was another beautiful campus! It sits at the top of a steep hill and overlooks Ithaca and that huge lake.

Cars

You may have noticed in earlier pictures that Drake was losing weight.  He wouldn't eat anything, and throw whatever we put in front of him on the floor - with the exception of Cheetos and cheese.   He also wouldn't drink anything but apple juice.

The solution:  Cars.  Cars, Cars, Cars. Lightening McQueen is my hero.

The first time I played the movie while he was sitting in his high chair I found that I could put anything in his mouth and he'd just eat it.   Finally I could feed him more than Cheetos and String Cheese!  My chubby baby is back, with a healthy appetite for PB&J, baked potatoes, grilled cheese, and whatever else I feel like making.  He drinks whatever is in front of him too.  No more juice, hello milk and water.

Yes, those are pretzels, goldfish, and honeycomb.  Those were fillers after finishing his sandwich.  Hallelujah.

"Elbow" loves "Cahs" too.

Fun at the Playground

Last week I took Drake to the playground to play with my friend Jill's kids Ben and Gabe.  Drake loves those boys and wants to do everything they do.  The last time I took him to a park he cried on the swing and hated the slides, but this time he enjoyed everything!
