Thanks Drake

Two weeks ago I posted about Drake buying Johnny Phillies tickets for his Birthday. Yesterday was game day, and Johnny and I had so much fun! Even though we tried to sell them, Drake knew we'd have a good time and I'm glad we got to go. (Sadly, when we got the camera out to get some amazing pictures, the battery wasn't in it so these pics were all taken with our cell phones : )

Our seats were right above the Phillies dugout. It was crazy seeing the World Champ players up so close!

The weather couldn't have been better. Not hot, not cold, breezy, and clear skies.

Sitting with my husband, watching a good game, while eating hot dogs & Crab Fries =
HEAVEN

This was the first date we've gone on in months...How did Drake know it would be such a nice break from him and Bubbas?

When we got home, we watched some of the game and saw ourselves on TV!
(Center left, my mouth is wide open in astonishment)

We had a blast! We'd never put down that kind of cash again, but it was so nice of Drake to do that for his Dadda for his Birthday.

Drakie & Bubbas

We replaced my camera Thursday, yay! I celebrated by taking waaaay too many pictures of the boys.

Drake's Birthday Present for Johnny

Today I was online, looking for tickets to a Phillies game for Johnny's birthday. I found two tickets with great seats, but super expensive. I wanted to see what the total would be with the ticket price, service fee, and taxes, so I went through the entire order, stopping at the page where you click to confirm. I left my computer to go ask Johnny if he wanted these tickets for his birthday, pretty much knowing he would say no but asking anyway. Johnny was in his office on a phone call so I sat next to him waiting for him to finish (I'm sure this is one of his pet peeves). The call took forever, so I went back out to my computer to just cancel the order and ask him about it later.
When I got to my computer, it was closed and turned off. I turned the computer back on, opened my email, and discovered a confirmation email - Drake had taken the liberty to order the tickets for me! How sweet, right? Wrong. Although I know he thought he was being helpful (saving me the effort of clicking a button), I'm now stuck with two (non-refundable) tickets. Needless to say, if anyone is looking to by Phillies tickets, I have a couple for sale...

Kidney Stones

It wouldn't be a normal summer without at least one kidney stone. Three weeks ago Johnny and I went through our usual:
"I think I'm passing a stone"
"Do you want to go to the hospital?"
"Not yet, I'll wait and see if it gets worse."
"You always say that and then it gets worse, lets just go now."
"Ok, you are always right and are such a wise and handsome man"
or something like that

Its nice to finally be back to normal and in our usual routine. Johnny did such a good job taking care of the boys for me while I was down and out!

I'm so lucky to live close to a great friend who let Drake live with her family for a few days. Thanks Devon!

Here's of picture of the stones I had when I was pregnant with Drake and the stint that was place since I couldn't pass them - the biggest was an inch in diameter, yikes.

Summer Friends

This summer our ward was inundated with security families (the husband sells security systems for the summer).  It was so fun to get to know a bunch of couples from Idaho!  Two people we saw a lot of - Jamie and her little girl Kylie.  Jamie and I swapped babysitting and which was wonderful and Drake absolutely loved it.  They played together really well and Drake learned how to share.  Here are some pictures of the last time they got to play before the Hiltons moved back to Idaho, I was so sad to see them go!

For craft time we made prints of our feet and hands and the dye wouldn't come off their feet : )

Kylie being cute and nice, Drake being a typical boy

(Yes, Jamie, I tried to make our kids kiss.  That way when they are 18 and 19 up at BYU - I and meet each other I can embarrass them)

Drake's first rejection.  She gave him the 'cold shoulder'.

His second attempt he decided to only go 90%, yet still got rejected.
He takes after his dad I guess

The Blingky

When I was pregnant with Drake I purchased this Blingky.  I loved it.  It was the first thing that made me excited to be a mom.  To Johnny's dismay, it cost $30.  I know, a thirty dollar binky is ridiculous, but it made me sooo happy.  Doesn't that matter?  Well, Drake never took a binky.  Shortly after having Pierce I gave him a little pep talk, telling him that he would immediately be my favorite child if he just gave the Blingky a try.  He listened and has now claimed that he loves it as much as me and never wants to part with it.  Thank you Bubba for making me even more happy to be your mother.
Drake, you can make it up to me by potty training yourself before you turn two.  Good luck.

Boston Trip July '09

At the end of July Johnny and I took the boys up to Boston for a week.  Here are some photos of my favorite parts of the trip:

Utah Trip - June '09

In June we spent almost the whole month in Utah. It was so fun to see my whole family and have Drake spend time with them. Here are photo's from the highlights of our time in Utah:

Right when we got there we had a Hunsaker family reunion. It isn't too often we get this whole group together, but when we do it is so fun and always a lot of laughs!

From day one Drake and Brady spent lots of time in the little pool in the backyard.

The Oremfest summer parade was lots of fun. Drake loved his first parade and all of the Police cars and motorcycles.

Brady and Drake played Hair Salon in the pool.
Brady: "So, didn't you think that chocolate ice cream bar was TO DIE for?"
Drake: "It was so dewicious, da way da nuts mixed wiff dat chocolate. Yuh-um."

More time in the sun.

Poor Bubba spent three hours under an umbrella.  After we got inside, I realized the umbrella barely provided any shade!  His face got SO sunburned and made me feel like such a horrible mother! Luckily it didn't take too long for him to recover.

Of course, Johnny and Brett had to have a best of five, one-on-one tourny. I won't say who won or lost, but it was fun to watch!

And Johnny made sure to show me that even though he is 30, he can still dunk.

There was plenty of bath time.

And it was so nice to spend time with my Grandma. She didn't mind the chaos and the mess we made, just laughed at how crazy all the kids were.

Tired little guys.

It was such a fun vacation and hard to leave! I hope we get to repeat it again next summer!

Johnny's Trip to Alaska

While the boys and I were in Utah, Johnny was able to spend a week in Alaska with his two friends Dave and Andy. They rented a motorhome for a week, fished salmon and halibut, hiked a glacier, canoed in the ocean, and tried their hardest to be more manly. He absolutely loved it!

Salmon fishing - they had the most luck of any other group on the river!

The lovely RV

Canoeing in the Ocean

Halibut Fishing

Johnny caught a 5'7", 150 lber that had to be shot in the head 8 times before finally surrendering

Although he was trying his hardest to be manly, he couldn't help taking a picture among the beautiful wildflowers he passed while hiking to a glacier.
