Night Out

Last night Johnny and I were fortunate enough to spend a night up in New York, without kids! We dropped the boys off at a friends house, who already has three kids of her own and obviously doesn't know how to say "NO", and headed up north.

We got to our hotel a little late, but decided to do a little site seeing before bed.

We stopped by Rockefeller Center and had to pay homage to 30 Rock, of course.

And I was fascinated by an amazing display of hydrolix.

( I just learned the word 'hydrolix' last night, sorry if the spelling is wrong)

The next morning we left our hotel and had a VERY touristy day, all planned by my huband - who I didn't know knew how to plan something.

We started at Magnolia's where we got a very healthy and calorie free breakfast, because I am pregnant and need to eat healthy.

And then headed over to Central Park where we hopped on a horse drawn carriage for a tour of the park. I bit my tongue the whole time, trying to keep from asking the driver how he liked working behind an animal that smelled like @#$* all day.

On the carriage we ate our healthy breakfast - oh wait, I forgot, it was very unhealthy and full of calories, because I am pregnant - which consisted of a red velvet cupcake, pumpkin cheesecake, and peanut butter toffee square, washed down with a Jamba.

Yes, I have gained a lot of weight this pregnancy...and so has Johnny.

and then I almost lost my breakfast after seeing this...

but I knew my aunts love hairy thighs so I couldn't resist. Right Chris and Michelle?

The weather was PERFECT!

and everything was soooo green.

after walking around a bit more, it was time to eat again...of course.

Burger Heaven was my request, because currently all I want is cupcakes and burgers, and their burgers are heaven.

We then went to the Gershwin Theater so I could see my first ever broadway play, Wicked!

Our seats were great, 4 rows up, right in the middle. I loved it and was surprised Johnny enjoyed it as much as me!

(He may or may not have wanted to listen to Defying Gravity the whole way home until he had it memorized. I love him.)

I had to take a picture of a "New Yort Ciddy Taxi" for Drakie, from the back of our little cart pulled by a muscly guy on a bicycle. I felt bad for eating so much that day, no wonder he started sweating after 2 blocks.

Our last stop before heading home was Grand Central Station. I'd never been there and didn't know much history on it. It was beautiful and I had a little fun with some time-lapse photos.

We had a wonderful time spending 24 hours away from the kiddos! A night away helped me remember how much I love and appreciate my little guys and love spending time with Johnny.

And I am sooooo grateful for wonderful neighbors who watched the boys for us and made sure they were fed, napped, changed, and clothed - on top of doing that for their own children - so thanks Linns!!!!

My mother would be so proud...

My first attempt at outdoor potted plants. I know, there are only two, and not very big, but if these make it through the summer I deserve a trip to the Bahamas...or at least thats what I keep telling Johnny.

Sunday Drive

Because of my inability to wait until my 20 week ultra sound to find out the gender of my babies, I go to a gender check place around 16 weeks.

I will be 16 weeks along tomorrow, which means I will soon know what I'm having!

I created a poll on the right asking what you think I'm having. (Johnny thinks its a girl, I think its another boy.)

This little boy has many "looks" he gives his mom throughout the day. Some make me laugh, some make me happy, some make me scowl, but others make me sigh. I can't be mad at a face like this, even if he did just throw a car at Bubbas head.

One Year Old

Today my baby Bubba turned one...WHAT?! I can't believe he is already one! He is just as pleasant today as he was the day I had him. This little guy has brought so much joy to his mommy and daddy, and even his big brother. Bubba wears his emotions on his face, smiles at anyone and everyone, and loves food as much as I love him.

After cake, because it was such a beautiful day, we went for a Birthday Bubba Bubble walk. Drake pushed the stroller and told him all the things he'd need to know before he turns two, and Johnny showered him with Bubbles to laugh at and try to eat.

It was a simple day, but Bubba seemed to love every minute of it : )

Looks like I'm pregnant!

Due date: September 15th.

...and no, it was not an accident - I'm just crazy like that.

Utah & Montana Trip

In February we spent a week in Utah and a week in Montana visiting mine and Johnny's families. I didn't get too many photos in Utah (mainly because the majority of our time there I was in restaurants eating all of the food I've been missing for 8 months), but here are a few I did get:

From Utah, we drove 12 hours north to Billings, MT. Drake loved his Grandpa and spent lots of time with his Aunts and Uncles. The weather was nice the whole time so luckily, we got to do outdoor things.

And we each got to take turns riding "Mooder". Drake LOVED riding the horse, and isn't allergic like his dad is - thank heavens.

We got to see uncle Austin play basketball. He shoots, he scores!

And uncle Porter got his Eagle Scout...

...and asked Johnny to speak at the court of honor (although Johnny never did a day of scouting in his life).

We were also able to go to the Billings Temple and take pictures, it is so beautiful!

It was a great trip! And had Drake not thrown up all over Johnny on the flight home, it would have been perfect. Now we get to look forward to a visit from cousins Hanna and Hayden in a few weeks for Easter. Can't wait!
